Product use assessment is a balanced evaluation of the risks and the benefits of a pesticide product based on the properties of that product and how it is used; a key safety management tool to ensure the benefits that result from intended use are safe to users and the environment.
Use assessment promotes the use of a common framework which is intended to enhance understanding, apply credible science and be easily and universally implementable. The framework ensures the application of commonly understood objectives, recognised assessment methodology and best practices for evaluation, and provides a risk management tool.
