China Supreme Court makes example of convicted counterfeit pesticide supplier 

 agricultural experts assess damage to crops Counterfeit pesticide products are not subject to any form of quality control and can consequently prove highly damaging to farmers' crops. Following a collaborative investigation involving both industry and law enforcement, a Chinese court recently sentenced a supplier of counterfeit pesticide to a year in prison and compensation payment of RMB 42,485 (US$ 6,215) to cover full damages to a farmer’s crop.  read more ..

Croplife International to Host WTO Annual Public Forum, 17 September

The World Trade Organisation (WTO) Public Forum has become one of the most important platforms for dialogue among stakeholders of the multilateral trading system, and on 17 September, CropLife International will be hosting the Public Forum panel discussion.  The panel will discuss the challenges of ensuring coordination between the WTO and other international organizations, and on their respective rules, negotiations, and other efforts to ensure food security and to mitigate the impact of climate change.

CropLife launches large-scale training project in Andhra Pradesh, India, 21 January
The project will train farmers in the safe handling and responsible use of crop protection products, including their secure storage. The aim is to maximise benefits of using crop protection products, reduce unnecessary use and mis-use, and minimise any risks from their use.
